The App

Simply hold the iPad up, press record and pan around a client from the front to the side, capturing video of a potential frame. It takes 40 seconds to do this for four frames and comparisons can be made at a glance to drill-down and narrow the dispensing choice.

You can play and pause video to capture the angle of interest. Paused “4UP” pictures can be sent via email or onto Facebook for partner or friend approval.

Because this is all done at the point of frame choice, EyeDispense captivates a client’s interest and stops them leaving to “think about it” / look elsewhere. EyeDispense users retain their dispensings!

We find the ability to email the choices particularly helpful to men looking for partner approval. The instancy of Smart phones means we can often “close” the dispensing when a partner typically replies “you look best in picture 3″.

Take it…

…to your client

Current video systems are expensive and limited by being fixed in position which slows the dispensing process. Software only solutions for laptops also exist but these still cost hundreds and laptops are awkward to hold up. EyeDispense on iPad2 makes portable video dispensing a breeze.  Simply walk up to client and offer a professional video dispensing service at the point of choice – for less than the cost of just one designer frame.

Use it…

… every day

EyeDispense instantly communicates to clients you’re technically ahead. Easy to use, it takes less than 40 seconds to capture video of front facing and profile views of up to four different eyeglass frames. Then play, pause, enlarge compare and eliminate to narrow the final choice. Indecisive clients can email their photo choices or upload to Facebook for friend approval. EyeDispense is cool, great fun to use and your clients will smile when you use it.

Support

1. How to do pause video and view stills for comparisons

When you play a video simply touch iPad’s screen anywhere to freeze a pause.

2. How to clear previous patient’s pictures

Entering a new name clears persistent pictures. Delete buttons are only used in the selection process to narrow the patient’s choice.

3. Sometimes when I record video three, I loose the videos at positions one and two and the squares there go gray.

This means too many other Apps are running in the background. EyeDispense uses iPad2 memory to great effect. Simply close down other Apps by pressing the home button twice, tap any App icon in the row displayed to wobble them all and then touch the red circle to close them. This releases memory. Repeat.

4. Emailing sends pictures not video.

This is by design! The playback videos are there so you can pause a patient’s head orientation by touching the screen during playback. When sharing by email or Facebook, a photo-screenshot of the paused positions is sent.
